Carley Ens - Pediatric Speech Therapist in Long Branch, NJ
Carley Ens

Hi, I’m Carley!

I'm a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with over five years of experience helping children build speech, language, and communication skills through a play-based, individualized, evidence-based, and engaging approach. I love partnering closely with families to create therapy plans that are tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs.

‍

Why I love what I do:

I love working with children and their families and celebrating the meaningful progress and growth that comes through speech therapy.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I love in-home therapy because children are often most comfortable in their own environment, which can support greater engagement and meaningful progress.

What does a Speech Therapist Do?

Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction.

SLPs focus on:
• Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them

• Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas

• Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns

• Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech

• Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.

Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.

How my practice is special

one
Relationship-Based, Fun Therapy

I believe that building strong connections with children and their families, while making therapy enjoyable, creates the foundation for meaningful progress and successful outcomes.

two
Individualized, Evidence-Based Care

I use evidence-based practices while recognizing that every child is unique. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, I use clinical expertise and judgment to tailor therapy to each child's specific needs.

three
Creative, Interest-Driven Engagement

I incorporate each child’s interests and use creative activities to keep therapy engaging and motivating, helping children actively participate and make meaningful gains in their communication skills.
