Giovanni Paz - Pediatric Occupational Therapist in Chicopee, MA
Helping Kids Thrive with Occupational Therapy

Hi, I'm Giovanni!
I'm a dedicated Occupational Therapist on a mission to help children develop their fine and gross motor skills, as well as their communication, to support functional independence in daily life. I believe every child has unique strengths and potential, and my goal is to unlock those abilities through personalized, evidence-based interventions that are both playful and purposeful. I am detail-oriented and make it a priority to involve families in every step of the treatment process, because parents and caregivers are a child's first and most important teachers. Whether we're working on handwriting, self-care routines, sensory processing, or coordination, I create engaging, child-centered sessions designed to build essential skills while fostering confidence and independence.
Why I love what I do:
I love supporting children to develop new abilities, while having fun with activities they love.
Why I’m passionate about in-home care:
I'm deeply committed to in-home care because it enables me to understand each child's unique home environment and collaborate with families in the space where meaningful progress happens every day.
What does a Occupational Therapist Do?
Occupational therapists support children in building everyday skills—so they can grow, play, and be more independent. If your child struggles with things like getting dressed, using utensils, paying attention, or staying calm in new situations, an OT can help. OTs focus on:
• Fine motor skills – like holding a pencil, buttoning a shirt, or using scissors
• Sensory processing – supporting kids who are extra sensitive to sounds, textures, or movement (or don’t seem to notice them at all)
• Emotional regulation – helping kids manage big feelings and focus at school or home
• Independence and daily skills – like brushing teeth, tying shoes, potty training, or washing hands.Occupational therapy supports kids at home, at school, and in everyday life—so they can feel confident and capable in the things they do every day
