Hi, I’m Leigh Anne Cipriano
I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 25 years of experience supporting children and families. As a mom of two autistic children, I have a personal understanding of the unique joys and challenges families may experience, and I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent children of all ages. Outside of work, I love baking, trying new recipes, and traveling with my family.
Why I love what I do:
I love being a Speech-Language Pathologist because I get to make a difference in children’s lives, support their families, and create individualized therapy that builds on each child’s strengths.
Why I’m passionate about in-home care:
I enjoy providing therapy in the home because children feel comfortable in their natural environment, and I can build on the resources families already have to support learning with practical, affordable materials.
What does a Speech Therapist Do?
Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction. SLPs focus on:
• Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them
• Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas
• Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns
• Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech
• Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.
Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.
