Stephanie Camp – Pediatric Speech Therapist in Perth Amboy, NJ
Helping Kids Thrive with Speech Therapy

Hi, I’m Stephanie Camp
I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist with 16 years of experience supporting children and young adults across a variety of settings, including early intervention, AAC, and sign language, and I’m passionate about helping individuals with diverse communication needs find meaningful ways to connect with the world around them.
Why I love what I do:
I love making a difference by helping people find their voice and communicate with confidence.
Why I’m passionate about in-home care:
I believe family involvement is essential, and I’m passionate about empowering caregivers with the tools and strategies to help their children find their voice.
What does a Speech Therapist Do?
Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction. SLPs focus on:
• Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them
• Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas
• Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns
• Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech
• Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.
Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.

My Specialties
I specialize in:

How my practice is special
Lived Experience with Disability
As a person with a disability myself, I bring firsthand understanding of the challenges, barriers, and successes that can be part of navigating life with a disability. This perspective helps me connect with clients and families on a deeper level.
Empowerment Through Possibility
My experiences have reinforced the belief that a diagnosis or disability does not define a person's potential. I strive to help children build confidence, independence, and the skills needed to reach their individual goals.
Compassionate, Relatable Support
Because I have lived experience, I bring empathy, authenticity, and understanding to my work, creating a supportive environment where children and families feel seen, encouraged, and empowered.
